First what belt do you use, and why? Is it stock or aftermarket?
I'm just curious....
Now for me, my Muscateer has a Dayco GTS 705 belt and it's worth TF Out! I called Dayco Canada, they could not give me a part # of a replacement belt as the GTS 705 is some antiquated version of an ancient relic no longer available, maybe was new when Moses floated down the Nile I gather!
Dayco Canada gave me some engineers Tele # in Texas IIRC to contact and find out what I should use.
He crossed it to an HPX 2237 or XTX 2248, now the HPX is for 500-600CC engines, hmm...450 cc 12 Hp Techumseh...good enough!
I bought a new belt today, sanded my primary clutch faces and wiped with Zylene to clean off the dirt and debris.
After installing the new belt, I did a quick test drive down the same back orchard drive and on the same paved back road and got 15 and 17 MPH compared to 12 and 13 MPH previously.
Now I also may have gotten rid of my engine today and that means the diesel goes in so this new belt may not be long for this machine

Regardless, I thought I'd throw some images of my belts up for you to see. OMG does that old POS look like a POS next to the new one. Now to go and test the rig on the hills to see if it can climb any better...but without a torque clutch and only that speed secondary clutch that won't down shift I'm not thinking it will be a big improvement.
Anyway have a look, was it time to change

This old belt..ya supposed to be same width as new belt LOL

Can you say WORN TF out?

Suffice it to say it is a big improvement overall in response and now to see if it can climb.
Hoping it makes a difference, I'll be testing and reporting back soon enough
Thanks for looking
Al
