On the Muscateer, I've got a Salsbury clutch of some sort, as far as I can tell it's from the 700 series but exact model I'm not certain.
It is on a 1" keyed shaft, there are NO threads inside outer portion to insert a puller.
The clutch is as I often say RUST WELDED onto the shaft and I am unable to remove it.
A small propane torch has been tried and does not introduce enough heat IMHO to get that shaft off.
Anyone here have suggestions as to what to do?
FYI
I can place the clutch in OVER center and it locks into high gear, and as I understand it you can then unbolt the cover and take apart the spider and so forth. This hopefully would leave just the fixed sheave and the main tube correct????
Can I then heat the living crap out of that main tube with an oxy/acetylene torch and get it good and HOT and hopefully withdraw it from the engine shaft?
Any suggestions welcomed, I'm at a loss of how to get this clutch off the engine to install onto another engine.
Thanks
