  • lost control one side

Confused control arms moved under dash on max ll skid steer trans so adjusted plungers worked fine did some zig zags in forword then in reverse ran fine for about 20 min. Now no control on left side !! Shifter seams to work fine and moves good when running WHAT Did i do wrong???

Was it steering OK before the adjustment? If not it may be time for a rebuild. I would try to re-adjust first, then pull the diamond shifters and look at the pins just to make sure they are still in good shape. One could have sheared the pin and your shift lever will still feel normal.

Thanks i'll try to reajust but have noticed when plowing or the trails we on most of the time we mostly turn to left. Does the dimand shifter just pull up or do i have to pull tranny?

It will just pull up...once the lock down plate is removed anyway.

Depending on how old the transmission is, it may have snap rings holding the shifters from raising out of the bore. The newer models have a tin plate holding them down.

Good catch Don. He owns a 1987 and a 1999, but who knows if the trans has been swapped out to an older style or not.

IF, and that's a big IF, you can get the old pin out, you can replace it with a hardened dowel pin. If you ever make it down by Lansing, I'll give you one
Otherwise, a new diamond shifter is like $35

The pin is held in with RED Loctite, need heat to loosen it.
If you get it out and RI has "parts availability" issues due to the move.
I have some extra pins, I can get them to you in a day from Detroit.
The trouble with retirement is.... I never get a day off !!!!
