I used to know all the gear's proper names until I started typing. I don't know what happened then.

After getting the left side apart, I was able to compare all 4 bands and it looks like two of the bands have the missing material. Both on the right. One has 1 missing spot, the other has two. The left side is solid. Just to be safe, I'm going to have all 4 bands relined.

I called Transmission Crafters and they're still charging $35 per band with the red material. The guy I talked to asked me if I wanted the "red stuff" or Kevlar. I asked him to explain the difference and he said unless I was doing high performance stuff I should stick with the red. I just wanted to mention the option of another material for those out there who need something better for some reason. Maybe you can make a tradeoff of life vs. performance like on brake pads.

Did I just read a post where the master "jpswift" didn't know something that happened at RI. No offense JP but this kind of stuff hurts my eyes
