I pulled it apart cleaned all the brake dust and grease off of it. After I put it back together the nylon buttons do not make contact with the helix. If i load the spring and let it snap back it will. I tried flipping the spring over but that is in stalled correctly and in the correct holes. Will it fix it's self once installed and starts to spin?

Sounds as if you didn't pre load it. Basically while reassembling you need to twist tension into it while midway assembled.sigpic
My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
