Shaft adapter for secondary???? OR...Am I on glue LOL

K was sent for free...a 9 3/4" secondary torque sensing model today with the incorrect shaft pilot.

The clutch is 7/8, and my transmission is a 3/4" shaft.

Are there any kind of adapters available that a guy could use and test if this setup will work? If so I can spend the $$ on a NEW clutch maybe even larger diameter.

Are you sure about that tranny shaft? Most are 1" some are 1&1/8". If your measurements are correct, you should be able to find some washers to shim it up, or have a machine shop mill an adapter. Doesn't sound too bad either way.

The 7/8 is the standard on the t-20, suggest having a sleeve made and run a rectangular key.

I've been toying with putting a Polaris driven clutch on a T-20 and have the same issue. If the transmission shaft has a woodruff key like the T-20 the key may have to be hand fit to get the proper depth into the clutch. I was planning to fabricate a sleeve and cut an opening for the key to be installed. Are you installing this on the Hagen transmission and is it a straight key or a woodruff type. argojims idea will work even with the thin sleeve. If you were going to operate as a permanent install I would use 609 locktite in the sleeve to shaft surface. The sleeve would come off with a little heat if needed.

The keyed shaft adapters are pretty common units and come in a variety of diameters. I believe JerseyBigfoot used one to mount a Polaris driven clutch on the T-20 in his Blackbird Scrambler racer.


Would this work for you? I realize fitting the key might take some hand fitting as you say, but this is a great start.

FIRST Thanks for posting that, that's what I need!

So wow, they do exist, this will work for testing purpose at least to see if this type of clutch helps my machine out climbing etc.

I'll be ordering one of these for sure now.

I'll report back how this works out for me.

Oh indeed you are correct, however I could use the spring from the SPEED clutch a Red one, I'll see how it works out.

This is all experimental as I may inevitably go to the larger one yet 10.7" or something like that. If I do I'll get a new one.

This one if working correctly should allow about 25 MPH top speed and good bottom end.

All in due time, as right now I'm busy setting up shop to start my own business. This is taking huge amounts of time and effort.

Once I've got walls paneled and painted I can then roll in six wheeler and start playing with Kubota and clutches at same time.

Six wheeler though on the go, is not going on LOL
