Get a refurbished one, or just a used one and refurbish it yourself. Even the heavily-used T-20s seem to hold up well. I can't imagine it would be THAT expensive to get one over to the UK. I would think you could cut your low-end "new" price in half or better if you shop around or post a wanted ad here on the board for a used unit.

What sort of money are you talking Hydromike for used old ones??
I'm looking at producing a vehicle or making a few prototype for my own use and want a transmission I can make or get cheap and easy to repair and maintain

Would you be allowed to use a T20 in a production vehicle without the manufacturers permission? Would the manufacturer even sell you new ones?

There is a ton of gearbox/transaxle's out there, new and used. We use these in a lot of different builds, cut the axles n tubes and make whatever ya want. this is from a EZGO golf cart and are pretty much bullet proof, I've had 70 plus hp on them and theres thousands of them out there. gear ratio's from 12:1 8:1 6:1 and a Member from this forum even makes a 4:1 set.

Yes, You can mount hubs and brake rotors right off the housing and eliminate the axle tubes all together. its built similar to the Argo trans but only single speed.

EZ-GO Textron used this same trans from 1991 to 2007, they produced thousands of gas carts a year so no shortage of parts or complete units.
