  • Driven Clutch to Tranny Attach

Just bought a 93 max 11 and was having issues with no power. I discovered that the driven clutch had nothing attaching it to the tranny shaft. So it was pretty much just sitting on the shaft. I looked thru the bottom of the tub thinking that maybe everything had just fallen off, but there was nothing to be found. I think the previous owner must have forgotten to finish putting everything back together. My question is, what all is used to attach the clutch to the tranny, what size bolt, washers if any, key? Thanks, new to all of this but trying.

The bore on the secondary is 7/8". There is a woodruff key in the shaft to engage the slot in the clutch. The woodruff key is designated by a "size" (ie #10,#61,etc) this was just discussed recently on the forum. Maybe try searching something like "woodruff" and see if anything surfaces. I forget the exact dim's for the screw but want to say I believe it's a 3/8-24 thread Hex Head Cap Screw aprox 2 1/2 or 3" long. And a washer sufficient to keep the head of the screw from entering the clutch bore.

#9 woodruff key. You can get at any true value hardware store. Bolt is a 3/8-24 hexcap 3" long, make sure you get grade eight and use 2x 3/8" grade 8 fender washers.
