  • Clutch Clacking

This post makes it sound like I got a Duck on board. But, my clutch, when you first throttle up on my B & S 23 hp the clutch clacks a little. It runs fine out on in the woods but you hear it clicking or clacking all the time on throttle up. Wondering if there is any kind of adjustment a person can do to the clutch? any kind of spray to the inside of the clutch or ???

Grease, lots of grease....No, make that anti seize. Smear lots of it over every surface. You clutch will be totally silent....your machine wont move, but the clutch will no longer make noise.

There are special lubes made just for clutches. Some people use graphite, some use silicone. Whatever you use, make sure it does not get on your belt or the surface the belt rides on. Any lube you use needs to be a dry type. Petroleum products will attract dirt and gum up the clutch.
