Has anyone seen this before? I torqued the plungers down to 20 inch pounds using the plunger tools. They do not sit the same between the left and right sides. If looking at the plungers, the top left screw sticks out way farther than the right. The bottom right plunger sticks out farther than the bottom left. I set them twice with the same result. Here are some pics. 20141028_191606.jpg20141028_191637.jpg20141028_191654.jpg20141028_191711.jpg20141028_191728.jpg

T-20 plungers not aligned

There are variations in drum thickness, band stretch, etc. that can cause the plungers to be at different locations even when properly adjusted. I've always measured the distance between the channel and the case to set mine so I can't comment on using the inch-lb wrench or the tool.

When I adjusted mine they were slightly out of alignment. I just did what Richard from Richards Relics said and backed them both out and then followed the adjustment procedure and they came out pretty even when torqued to 20 in lbs. Of course I had to pull the tranny to torque them. Can't reach the bottom bolts any other way.Our motto in the Strategic Air Command was "Peace is our Profession". If you don't believe it we'll bomb the hell out of you.
