  • 2000 max iv t-20

    My max iv has 177 hr's on it I've changed the fluid in my t20 on the drain plug it has some grayish sludge looks like bans material and some metal I'm afraid to adjust my bands I'm new to this whole 6x6 world I've only owned my max for 3 weeks and its all tore down due to bad bearings neglection from the guy I bought it from please give me some Intel of how to go about making sure I don't screw up my trans im in Mi if anyone can help me thank you

    Welcome to the site freestyle. T-20 fluid should be changed about every 50 hours, and it rarely gets done. What you found was nothing unusual. If your machine was acting fine, don't worry about adjusting the bands yet, but if it acted funny here are the instructions: http://www.6x6world.com/images/skid-...-manual-15.jpg

      Good old Alpena I don't mind traveling to ride I used to go to the u.p every winter for snowmobiling

        I would also to know about getting the free play out of my controls and how hard to do a red spring

          Getting the "slop" out of your controls involves several changes,each will take just a little bit out. For most people it simply is not worth the effort/expense.
          The red spring is much the same. The spring is inexpensive, but the change involves pulling the T-20 to get the clutch off before disassembling.

            Yea I guess I'll leave it for I'm going to hopefully find a couple more 6x6 vehicles I got the bug Lol
