  • Honda GX200 CLUTCH HELP

    Hi Guys
Hope I am ok to post this on here?
I have my sons Havel buggy fitted with an Honda GX200 engine with a 2\1 reduction wet clutch fitted, I drained the oil in the clutch case and found bits of the pressure plate pins, also the bolt that holds the clutch basket was stripped so rerun a tap down and fitted new same lenght one, cant see any other damaged, over plates look great, so just fitted a new pressure plate, put it all back together and it will not move!!!!any ideas??
It did work before, but wheels was moving all the time.
    Any help would be great

Do you have any information on the manufacturer/model of wet clutch that you are using?

Richie, what happens when you give the engine throttle? Does the engine bog down or does the motor rev up and down? What if you raise the tires off the ground, does it work then? I'm not familiar with that particular reduction unit but let's start with some simple details while everyone else reads the thread.

Its gonna be something simple like a washer/shim/pin in the wrong place or.. We'll get er' figured out i'm thinkin. that Chinese inspired stuff is always built a little odd i guess i'l put it.

Could the clutch center key have pushed out, did Ya take clutch center out or just pull the plates out?

              Hi Nubs
Yes I removed all the clutch unit from the shaft, does the key hang out a bit? I did push it in.
              Hi Mike
it revs up and down ok, just not turning the wheels! seem like clutch is slipping bad? wheels do turn a bit when raised, but soon stop when touched.
What revs would make the buggy move? When I bought it the wheels was always turning, after stripping found pressure plte pins had broken, so fitted new and now i have this, all parts seem to look in the right place , clutch plates have grooves as new ones, just dont know why its not moving???
p.s its a wet clutch with Lucas 10w-30 oil same as engine, thats what Honda say.

I fitted the other new plates and it works great now, funny how the old ones will not work when they look the same??
                Thanks for your help.
