Has anyone seen this wear on outer drums and bushings? Everything else is in perfect condition. Bushings are wiped out. Grooves are deep.

Is there a repair for this other than replace drum? -
I sleeve them and turn back to standard. The other choice is install new bushings that are always a few thousands under size. Polish the drums and fit them to the bushings. I use 4140 for the sleeve material to try and match the hardness of the original drum. Factory bushings require fitting to size. whipper posted a video on bushing install procedure.Comment

Yeah, That's what I was thinking. I'll chuck em up tomorrow and make some sleeves from 17-4PH, and heat treat them.

Pressed in new bushings and WOW! are they undersize, a full .027 undersize. Ended up just turning the drums and they cleaned up just to the bushing size. No sleeves.

Yep, three at once. one is an old Borg Warner with supported shaft. Anyone need this?
