  • Salisbury 780 drive clutch

Forgive my ignorance and laziness, wait that's normal, anyhoo on topic.
Have a drive that appears to be set up for the1-1/4 belt, is it able to be shimmed down to 1-3/16? There's a big gap between the belt and the power and response is down, once up seems ok. Belt is correct Max belt and sits fine in the 4 stroke driven.
Haven't had one apart in years and can't recall.
    Thanks

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

The only way would be to move the spider down, so I think your out of luck Jim. I believe an 1/8 inch gap between the belt and the sheeve on the primary is the spec on the old salsbury. Any idea what the top width is when the clutch is closed?

Sorry Joe, never been into one of those.

It would be a piece of cake to shim the secondary to accept 1.25 inch belt.
