  • Argo tranny & gear oil confusion ?

Ok here is my confusion, i have read conflicting coments on gear oil, i first read that i need to use 80w90 gear oil in my 93 magnum, so i picked up some at canadian tire, (motomaster brand) then i saw a post by a member that said " 80w90 hypoid" well i dont see the word hypoid on my bottle.. so do i need a different gear oil ? Or is the "hypoid thing" for newer models ? Also , im sorry cuz i know its been posted before but i cant seem to locate a post i once saw that mentioned the amount needed for my machine... I know its here somewhere but i cant find it..i keep finding posts about newer models, i dont want to over or under fill.
    Thanks all

Its the same thing, plain old gear oil. No worries, but its always wise to ask.

If it's completely drained, 28 oz's should do it, check it from 20 on just in case.

      Joe Camel never does that.

There are plenty of folks that are here to welcome you into the hobby, and no question gets old. I'm happy that you got yourself an amphib and joined the site, and hope to see you down the road at one of the rides.
