  • Service a Conquest clutch

    Hello;
    My manual suggests a complete service of the clutch at 250 hours.
    What is the complete service they are calling for?
    Thanks.

    That is kind of strange isn't it? I read that on page CS-18 in the clutch section here: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/conte...o-manuals.html They recommend completely tearing it down but it really doesn't say why. I didn't spend a lot of time looking at the manual so they may elaborate on it elsewhere?

    I don't think that it's necessary to disassemble it. Just inspect it, lubricate it and keep on riding.

      All I've been doing is lubricating with silicone and I haven't experienced any problems yet.
      Thanks for responding.

        When I bought my conquest I rode around on it for a few weekends before I decided to lube the clutch like they say you should. I sprayed some wd-40 on there and within an hour the bushing in the secondary disintegrated lol. I had to replace the bushing and what a headache that was. I can't help but wonder how long the bushing would have held together without me poking around, "maintaining it".
