  • distance between clutches

Hi doing a 4 stroke conversion on my max II and was wondering if some one could get me a center to center measurement between clutches. will be modifying the old engine mount for the new Briggs and Stratton engine.

    Thanks,
    Bill

There is a post on here with the info your looking for. Also You can make an adapter plate for the engine change with a flat steel plate and wild/bolt it to the old mount. Or an aluminum plate then bolt it to both.
If I remember rite there was a engine mount plate in parts for sale > Just scan over the older posts.
As for the belt deal get yourself a New belt then set it up that way as its easy to set the distance that way also.
    Hope this helps out !

Here's a link to a helpful document. The first 7 or 8 pages will get you what you need.

The publication is from Quality Drive Systems, of which Roy is a friend of 6x6world members. He is held in high regard as knowing his stuff....and I believe he does. I don't know if any copyright protections exist with regard to this document, but perhaps Mike could get the ok to post in the resources section of this site.
