Opened up my Torque Transmitters on the new coot. Front box is 100% sealed and full.
Rear box leaked any fluid above the drive shaft bearings. You can see in the picture most of the bolts are uneven and backed out (lose) hopefully snugging them up will stop leak. However I’m left with this disgusting gooy mess that will need to be cleaned out before new oil goes in.
Any tips for doing so while the unit is still in the machine? As nice as it would be to remove the box, gears, axles and apply new gaskets, and power wash. That isn’t going to happen.
I was thinking. Pumping sludge out, than spritzing and soaking in diesel fuel a few times. Than wiping down with rags.
Anyone got any other suggestions? Anyone know if diesel is safe on bronze gears?
Thanks.
