Recently got notice that almost every type 1 specific transmission part is on last the last run and will be discontinued after that. I'm sure some of the bigger dealers will purchase a stock but this is a blow to keeping older machines running.
You know this thread that msafi65 put up never took off and it should have, perhaps its not clear enough it means that pre 2003/4 transmissions that were in the Conquest,s/Magnums/8and 6 IC,s/bigfoot/and every other model that used the "Old Style" transmission pre the new style Avenger std and Admiral, parts from the manufacture are now obsolete.I say ouch thats a ton of machines out there its a huge cross section of the members here that have Argo,s now that is a big issue when it comes to resale value as well as trade in value T 20 parts have always been available for all the discontinued makes from the past but Argo owners once the excess parts pool drys up your machines are not worth much, only saving grace that I can see is the fellas that are big time fabricators to upgrade to a late model standard trans.Iam shocked by this move and they are not offering a way out for the thousands of owners of the older machines so heed the warning and if you can pickup a spare for your machine used do so a Argo without a transmission is worth very little.NCT
Argo Adventure has ordered a ton of spares for the Gen I transmission for the last production run, we should be fully back in-stock April 2017. While complete transmissions are sold out at the factory and they would not build dealers anymore, we were able to get approximately 10 years worth of top selling gears, shafts and pinions manufactured.
As of March 2017 we have (2) 610-17GP (Keyed output shafts) and (2) 610-18GP (Splined output shafts). Once these sell out we will only have rebuild parts available.
