  • I made scratches into the T20 drum

by trying to use band that had too few lining. About to send them to TC, however questions remain:

Can I switch forward with the reverse drum (don't use the reverse too often), i.e. are they identical?

Can it be polished/buffed/sanded....you know, what can I do instead of buying one?

    Thanks a lot in advance,

    Peter

If I remember correctly you can't switch them. One drum has a ring gear that follows the three smaller planetary gears and the other drum doesn't. One drum carries those three smaller gears and the other doesn't, Also, one drum rides in the big bushing in the housing and the other doesn't.....If I remember correctly.

You can chuck the drums in a lathe and turn just a bit off the surface to clean it up, depending on how deep the grooves are. There is a current thread discussing that and how much can be taken off.

You use the "reverse" drum to steer and stop in forward.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
        Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.
