New to 6x6. T 20 troubles i think.

Hello all, I am new to 6x6. Have question hoping one can answer. I have a 2000 Max iv with 18hp B&S. Replaced all drive chains inner and outer bearings on 3 axles and the chain adjuster sprockets. Replaced left side diamond shifter. Replaced transmission fluid and aded 4 oz of differntal slipper with 28oz transmission fluid. Problem is gear shifiting to reverse is very hard. To impossible at times. A few times while in reverse (i think) i coild go backwards while pulling back sticks and go foward while pushing foward on sticks. How is this possible? I adjusted bands using them 2 adjustment tools. What do I need to look at? Could the bands be to tight? I am in south Louisiana. Thanks

unhook the shift mechanism and move the diamond shifters by hand. put them both in reverse and see how it does, then try them both in forward. bent shift linkage and make these machines terrible to shift. should be no way for one side to engage both forward and reverse. my guess is that one side was in forward, and the other in reverse so you got some motion in both directions
