Has anyone tried using the John Deere hygard trans oil instead of type f n their t20? It seems to be easier to find and more affordable, the power glide forums claim it's the same as type f but without red dye. Any insight is appreciated. Thank you guys for all the help.

Don't know if JD hygard is the same or not. But since you only need a quart or two is the price differential really a big deal? -
Not so much the price difference, even though we could all benefit from saving a couple bucks, I just didn't want to order a whole case to avoid paying 16 bucks for shipping for a 5 dollar quart of fluid. Just doing some thinking out of the box, if there's something out there as good we can use in a t20 besides type f then I definitely want to know about it, it's kind of hit and miss at our local Napa, and I rarely get out of our hole in the wall town to go to any of the regular parts stores.Originally posted by dirtdobber View PostDanWComment

I run Dex III in mine. I've read any automatic trans fluid works. I believe muddox puts hydraulic fluid in them.sigpicComment

I run Castrol CVT transmission fluid in mine. I understand it has friction modifier already in it. Seems to run and operate fine.Comment
