  • diamond shifter placement right and left side ?

Can anyone tell me how to tell what diamond shifter goes on left and right? I was doing some maintenance and took both side off. Now I cant remember which diamond shifter goes to what side. Does the pins on shifters face the front or rear when installing back in?

    Thanks

If you put the transmission in neutral they will only go in one way. When you put it in you should be able to ship forward and reverse. The only way you won't be able to if you manage to get a shifter to go in.

If you take a close look at the trans, you will notice that the shifter hole is offset from the output shaft. In other words: looking down the hole, the shifting collar (internal to trans) is on one side of the hole.
You need to make sure the pin engages that shift collar. You should be able to see the slot in the collar that the pin fits into. If the wrong shifter is installed it wont fit into the slot or be able to move the collar.

I think the pins fit forward. Check each shifter pin, and set them so these pins fit in forward.
