  • Which tranny should I get? (22hp 4 stroke on a bh6000 currently. ) want reverse

Looking at a baker hill 7000 on eBay. Wondering if it would be an easy swap and put up with my 22hp motor.

Baker hill 6000 is still running but not having reverse is tragic on tight trails or muddy trails that I get high center and need to go back. Winch saves me but is cumbersome.

    Thank you

i'm not positive but i think the base is the same between the 6000 and 7000. i will take a look and see what i got laying around.
i will also check into the crossover. reverse linkage would be no biggie. maybe a trade if i have what you need. where are you located?

as far as running a 22hp sounds a little heavy for #40 chain specially in the mud and getting stuck but doable.
a t-20 upgrade would be pretty complex but possible.

feel free to shoot me a PM with your number we can discuss

Jim's right: the bases are the same on the B/H 6000 and 7000. The transmissions will take a lot of HP but the torque from a 22 four stroke may be a bit of a strain on it. I know a few folks that have switched over to 16 horse engines using the B/H without much of a problem.
      Good Luck!

What is it like using a 7000 in reverse?
        Gearbound and slow?
Can I turn any way i want backing up?

Also where do I find seals and bearing for the baker hill trans?

        Sorry for the numerous questions.

Baker hill 7000 installed on a baker hill 6000 stand. Works perfectly! I'm so happy to have reverse! Moves at a decent speed backwards too. Driving in reverse is the same as forward. Push sticks to move, pull to stop.
