Hi all, As some of you might know im a new guy and just bought a 1964 scrambler, it does not have reverse. I was wondering what would be needed to make it go into reverse. Thanks!
Well, one option is to put a different transmission into it. Both Jerseybigfoot and Joe M put a T-20 into their scramblers. You might want to get in touch with them to see how involved it is, and check out their member galleries to see pictures of the T-20 in a scrambler.
Finding a T-20 may be a bit of a challenge, since they are very well built and desirable, they are not cheep, good news is that your not-running attex probably has (or had) a T-20. Check to see if that is what is in there(just post a pic if your not sure, there are enough guys(and girls) on the site familiar with it to let you know.), as long as it's not a first Gen or very late model, it will be a T-20 in there. So if your not trying to get the Attex running also, you can use the tranny. (Telling you to dismantle an Attex? Wow, I am gonna get it for saying that! ) Let's just say "Borrow" the tranny, you can hunt down another to bring the Attex back to life soon enough.
Attex 295 Wild Wolf: sigpic My Runner
Attex 252? Colt? Racer 80%: My Racer to be..... SOMEDAY
Attex Super Chief - Sold.
Ok, Well the "attex" was actaully another scambler with an attex seat in it. (i knew they looked alot alike) so i really have two scramblers and no t-20's :-(
Im going to look for an attex for parts or maybe just a t-20
