I am rebuilding my T20 transmission and removed the O-ring plunger ends from each one of the 4 transmission bands that I had relined. I now have them back and not sure if the plunger needs to be applied to a one specific end of the band or doesn't it matter? It almost looks like one end of each bands has a slighter early bend than the other end.... but am unsure if one end needs to be used for the pin end and other end needs to be used for the plunger. Hoping someone can share some insight on this before I blindly pick a side to apply the plunger end on each band before I reassemble.

Sometimes you'll find that one end of the band will have the welds at the eye ground flat better than the other end. If there is any weld built up at the eye, it's difficult to install into the plunger. Sometimes the bend near the eye will be a little different, as you said, but that doesn't seem to make a big difference; the band will conform to the shape of the drum. I finish grind or file off any welds at the ends and install the bands in either direction ( as long as the rights and lefts are in the correct places).Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.
