T-20 questions

Hi

I have split my t20. I am putting every thing back together. I think all that happened is one of the brake bands come off (is that possible?). It sounded like it when i was driving it (pop sound, could not turn or stop). And it was not on when i split my t-20. Just wondering how thick or the brake bans suppose to be?
All so when putting it back together is the ring gear drum suppose to fit in the shift collar or just on top of it?

any help would be great

trying to put the t-20 back together
are both sides suppose to bolt together easily?
Looks like the more i bolt the less it wants to shift.

Yes, they should bolt together easily. Look in the how-to section of this site. There are a couple of good T-20 rebuild articles there that may help.
