drive problem

I have a 2002 max4. Only the left side will drive in forward, reverse works normal. Chain seems to be working OK. Has anyone had this problem?

Have you checked all of the linkage to make sure that the laterals are actually engaging the transmission? Also, take the shifter retaining plate off and make sure that the diamond shifter pin is actually actuating the shift collar. Check the T20 rebuild article in the how-to section for more info.

If all of that looks fine then your problem is probably a band or drum failure in the T20 itself.

The rest of the linkage if fairly straightforward. Check the Max section of the gallery to see pictures if you are looking to check yours compared to a different machine.
