  • Puck adjustment

I know how to adjust the pucks ....but what is the proper way, do you tighten them up all the way and back out a certain number of turns? Mine seems fine it just needs that little "fine tune"....I got a belt from Richards Relics...man does it fly now!!! It's a bit scary...hence why I want to make sure the controls are adjusted properly....LOL

    belts etc

Belts are alot more economical at NAPA.... All you do is adjust the bolt in 1/8 th turn, then tighten down nut, try it then, if needs more, then adjust accordingly....

Is there a starting point? If I put in new ones where do I "start" with the adjustment....

        reassemble . adjust

Put never sieze on the threads of the bolt, /nut , not too much., don't get it on puck, put steering sticks in neutral, adjust the bolt in to where the puck is just touching the disk, barely, adjust all the same, then fine tune accordingly...

            Hey Big Sal

The control sticks don't have a return spring. To eliminate the slope is just tighten up the pucks. I usually tighten them up, then loosen just enough to not drag. Not much like 1/4 turn or so. Make sure when you adjusting the brake side that the sticks are forward...drive side backwards..... So you aren't putting stick pressure on them when adjusting.

I developed a trick on tightening the jam nuts up. I put stick pressure on that side to help hold the jam screw from spinning. Works great for me.

I also use a ratcheting bit driver. A lot easier then an allen. I loosen the jam nut with the 9/16ths wrench like 1/4ish turn. Then I leave the wrench on (box side) when I adjust the adjustment bolt. It spins a little until it hits something. Then the nut stays near tight when you adjust in or out....... So just adjust the jam bolt untile set, then tighten nut. Should be close to tight already. It is a lot easier then threading nut out, then adjusting bolt in or vise versa. I hope I describe it well.

Glad to hear its coming along.........
