Hey Guy's;
Ive been dormant for awhile, but gettin started for a great sring and summer of ridin'. Pulled the Max IV out of the storage container this weekend and dusted it off. Got everything running, and started out for a shakedown drive. I didn't get far when I heard a Pop...Pop sound from the rear of the machine.
After pullin the engine cover, I discovered a very loose chain comming off the transmission. I searched further and found two bolts that secure the transmission to the frame on the left side.....MISSING!
I can remenber the last few rides from months prior that every time I pulled on the right stick that the left stick would move in the opposite direction and also the shift lever would move just alittle. I dismissed this for some reason unknown. My machine was trying to tell me something, but I guess I wasn't listening.
I replaced the bolts and replaced four of the six chains and also replaced one idler sprocket. Got everything together and went out for a great three hour ride with the kids. Forgot how rough the Goodyear 26's are without being loaded down with fat girls.
I remember a year ago I think that Mike had the same thing happen to him after his tranny overhaul.
Just an FYI.
BTW: I got a revival on the site this week, and now I am spending big money on tires, spacers....and God knows what else.
Later,
Rut
