Relined or New Bands?

I am in the process of taking out my tranny from my 01 Max IV. I know it is going to need at least one band. But I would like to replace all, as long as everything else looks good in there so I don't have to open it up for another five years. I would like to hear from people that use Richards relined bands. I know Don uses them, that was the only post that I could find. RI is charging $109 per band then $52 for seal kit, so I am tring to see if it is worth saving the money vs. quality.

From what I read, Jerseybigfoot had a problem with Richard's earlier bands, but Richard covered the damage. I only used one set of the early models before he changed rebuilders and I've had no problems. Richards relined units are a little thicker than stock, so they should last a while longer, too. Either way, I don't think you'll go wrong replacing all the bands instead of doing it half way.

He charges $70 per band and I think you have to send in yours also.

That sounds right. The core on the old bands is pretty stout- $30 maybe?
