  • T-20 EASY shift kit

I have a max II. I just installed Richards Relics T-20 EASY shift kit. Around $80.00 bucks, this upgrade was well worth it. My max shifts a lot easier and smoother now. My 2 cents. Good luck.

    Kabruta ,

I also ordered an easy shift kit from Richard for my Max IV. It did make the shifting from forward into reverse a whole lot easier , but when I saw what I payed $80.00 for,,when I received it in the mail ,I was VERY disappointed! Because this is some thing that could be easily duplicated for about $2.00 -$3.00

It was Hustler or another early AATV manufacturer that I can't remember offhand that actually developed this spring loaded easy shift kit. There might be someone on here that built their own easy shift kit that could help anyone construct their own for just the small cost of materials.

Hey, Ill sell the springs to anyone for only $50. All 4 even!!!

Sounds like a great modification though. I dont have a t20 machine so I cant make one. Sounds like a job for someone to make a "how to".

          Hi Guys,

Just posted two images under Transmissions of the easy shifters I made in Australia. I am rebuilding a Super Swamp Fox and I have a clean slate for the T-20 & engine mounts. The previous owner made a flat metal sheet between the center rails. I decided to build a sliding T-20 mount that incorporated a split shifter and the easy shifters. It means the whole unit can slide to allow adjustment on the jack-shaft chains and/or engine clutch belt. I just have to cut longer threads on the control stick lingages to allow more adjustment in these as well.

            Tuflux ,

Thats a very clean " split shifter " set up that you built. Its also simple to build , and also to duplicate. The sliding T-20 adjuster plate sounds like a very practical idea.

              Excellent work Tuflux.
Mudbug, At $80.00 he's got a high margin, but those barrel nuts are a pain to find, at a mower shop they can be $20+ for a pair. Now I havn't searched the McMaster Carr book yet, if the kit I'm making for my Wolf works well, any Attex guys looking for one, only 79 dollars and 100 cents
