I need new linings on my Terra Tiger steering clutches and would like to explore my options. Richards Relics is offering new rebuilds with a trade in of your worn ones. Is thew others available that are worth purchasing? I'm going to see if I can get them relined locally as one option. Whith this in mind what thickness should they be and what material is the best for this application? Thanks in advance for your reply.

I have only drove one terra tiger and I cant remember exactly how the clutches where? Seems like cone clutchBut maybe there is a spot that didn't wear, a spot that didn't line up with mating surface maybe? You could measure that. I was able to find a scrambler drive clutch that didn't line up so I was able to find the original thickness.
This may not work for your setup. But I hope it does and helps.
Once you find the thickness there are places that will reline them. Member tlp found a place in Muskegon Michigan that would do them for a scrambler. I have had a hard time finding someone local around me though. The other option is trying to find the adhesive they use at Mcmaster-Carr McMaster-Carr. They also have the friction material McMaster-Carr Then you could glue them on your self.
I wish I knew more about the tiger clutches because all of this may not apply to them.
Good luck!!!Last edited by LarryW; 07-11-2009, 09:40 PM.

We just had a couple relined at local shop. Cost was $50.00 each. Material is 3/16" thick and they used our inside clutch cones to hold-set new linings in place. I want to get them installed in one of our TT 18s to see how they hold up. I don't know type material they used. Or if you want to try these ones, let us know.

I got some material for making my attex pucks that is somewhat bendable. I bet you could find material similar and get the adhesive and glue them in. I found it from a local brake shop, they said it is normally used on cranes or bulldozers, as I guess there custom built clutches on them or brakes maybe. I paid $10 for there scraps.
But for $50 buck you could save your self a lot of hassle trying to make something work that may not even work
farmtoybuilder, I was waiting for you to respond. I figured you would have some help here.

Terra Tiger driven shaft removal?
Looking for some advice as to how do you get the shafts out of the Tiger once the chains are off, bearing collar retainer is loose & outside cover removed, the pins are out of the lined cups & brake pads removed. Everything is sliding except the outside bearing on the shaft. How do you get the shaft out?Toyman's AATV Toys;

If you removed pins hold clutch cones to shaft, your might be in trouble! As you have to drive the bearings inward on each side of shaft (towards clutch cones!) This allows shaft to move side ways so it will come out of one side of body. You may have too get cone clutchs back in place if shaft won't move sideways enough to come out. You can loosen collar's holding spring tension on them, to let tension off them. If you still have questions email or call us.
