I have an argo transmission that I picked up cheap for my argo. After buying two new discs, I tried to get the old ones off and the shaft fell out. After a reluctant look in the gearbox, I found that the circlips had popped off the shaft. I placed the shaft back without the circlips, (scary, I know) but it wont turn. Now it seems I will have to try a full dismantle. I was wondering if anyone had any literature on how to dismantle and put together a gearbox. Or any other ideas. Would it be a job for an automotive gearbox specialist?
I would be quite happy to buy a new gearbox, but the finances say not till next year. Any help you could give me would be much appreciated.
