  • Commet 94 C HELP..!!!!!!!

Anyone had any luck with the Comet 94 C clutch.. on a MAX II

I will have to use one if i keep my 24 hp Honda drop in motor plans, but scared the clutch may not perform..

I am at a crossroads whether I should proceed with the the Honda motor or just bite the bullet and do a Briggs upgrade and use my old faithful Salisbury.

I want to run tracks this winter and I’m told the 16 Hp just won’t be enough power..

Feedback Please.. Need to make a decision..

I would suggest using the 94C and 90D series

Comet Torque Converters - High Performance Go Kart, Snowmobile, Lawn & Garden Light Duty Utility Vehicles, Golf Carts and ATV Torque Converter Series

This is what I was told to use on my Max II ( HOGWILD )

hope this helps you out give Don a call he seems to know his stuff and what you will need.

I've used the 94C on some pretty healthy two-strokes and also on some fairly heavy machines with four-stroke power. I don't see any problem using the clutch on your Honda engine or with the stock driven clutch, but you may want to change the spring in the driven unit depending on where and how you drive. The 94C with the ridges in the cover has less chance to slip than the smooth-cover, but I've used the smooth ones and never had a problem.

One of the great things about the 94C is the ease of tuning. You can get springs and pucks for pretty much any application.

Thanks for the info..I feel a bit better now

I just heard that the 94C had plastic pucks and was not that robust..

I think i will go for the 24Hp upgrade..what the heck, you can't take it with you .!! The power for the tracks will nice..

          regards..

Would these guys make a high speed clutch for the 25hp Kohler on my Max IV? Is the 94C the unit for this motor? I'd like to get more top end out of the machine and Fulleraviation bought an HSC from Richard Clark which apparaently is an Argo unit. He couldn't rave enough about it; claiming top speeds near 40mph! Wondering if Comet has a comparable, robust unit for less than the $300 that Richard's Relics charges. Hmmm...
