  • Drive Pulley/Clutch

I have a 18hp B&S Vanguard motor that has started to leak oil from the oil pump cover. I have removed the motor from the maxxll. I need to know how to get the pulley off the shaft. Is there a puller? Can something else be used? I have included a picture of the pulley. Does anyone know what type it is? Thanks

Can't tell you about the clutch, but the engine cover has an o ring to seal oil pressure. Sort of self explanatory when you see it. Also take the rocker arms off to unload the cam and lean the engine over on the flywheel side.

When I put the side cover on, I used silicone on both sides of the gasket. It blew the gasket out in 30 minutes. Some guy recommended putting the gasket in clean and dry. Before I heard that advice, I put it together with silicone and without the gasket. Part of that strategy was to lower the crank end play which was over .030

Had to thin the crank gear a few thou though. The torque spec on the cover is 150 inch lbs.
