hi ,
Q Can the discs be fitted to a standard t20 ,sprockets ,outputshafts different ??
Q Does the driven unit [secondary clutch ] sit further away from transmission as a result compared to a non braked unit
Q Mechanical calipers or hydraulic
Q do the calipers have a park/emergency brake provision
Who has discs for sale preferably with calipers etc etc ????????
i have to 1972 chiefs that do not have this setup just the brake setup on the front axle. MY guess is that 6 chains setups do not have it like mine / and 4 chains do. because nate on here has a chief 4 chain and has the discs on the tranny.

All the T-20s I've seen have it set up for the disks on the side opposite the input shaft. The T-20s I've seen that were not set up for this application originally do not have the proper output shaft on the clutch side.
I think (but I'm not sure) that the T-20 in the Attex models from 1973 and up (4 chain) are all located in the same spot on the frame. Motor mounts might change how close the engine sits to the T-20. I think Don would know for certain.
They're mechanical.
On the Attex, they do not have a way to be set like a parking brake. You might be able to fab. something.
I might have most of what you need. I'm pretty sure I have an output sprocket for the clutch side. I don't know it they can be easily swapped but I guess you could ask around. I'm not sure I have both a left and right caliper but I think I have a couple (Might be 2L or 2R). I have a set of disks.
As far as I know, the motor mounts are the same on both. The discs are just small enough to clear. I most likely have the external parts if George doesn't. If you don't have the output with the notched spool to fit the discs, you'll have to split the T20 and replace them, unless you can fab something on the spools you have. I always thought a master/slave set up from the front of a mototcycle would be cool to use on the big disc for an Attex, but haven't tried it yet. It doesn't seem like it would be real tough to make work.
I built a parking brake mechanism for the Li'ltruck and it was not a big problem.
Good luck
Don
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

HI
Don and George
Very interested in the brake parts, discs, calipers and transmission sprockets.
I will PM u both for further information and to make arrangements .
The only remaining question is that it sounds like i may need a transmission shaft to complete conversion .
Q do the discs mount to the shaft or are they part of the sprocket [It sounds like they mount to shaft in the same way the non brake t20 mounts sprocket . On a permanent installation spline Therefore the mounting area would be longer on shaft ]????
QIn regards to transmission clutch position does it sit further away from the main body of the transmission due to having to allow for the disc mounting compared to standard t20
Other than contacting richard relics i would assume the only way to 100% to identify transmission shaft requirements is either a Attex trans manual or to contact
either borg warner or Skid steer corp.
Attex is no longer in production correct ??[further info]
Research may take a few days to complete
Thanks
tomo
PS The plans for the swamp fox are coming along well but after a test ride it is clear that a machine with its heavy weight and size would benefit from brakes greatly .
Basically swamp fox requires some work in all areas
