So i have a problem with my 1970's MAX II T-20.
It worked great up until Christmas and then all of a sudden the handles didn't center correctly. you could still go forward if you pushed really far forward on the right control stick but it was too damn cold to fix whatever the problem was.
So the weather breaks and my first thought is to get "Ducky" running. I pulled out the battery so I could see the front of the T-20. The problem seems to be that the lower right plunger travels much too far. The Left hand plungers (that I suspect are fine) travel about 3/4" in and then flush or a little more outside the transmission housing. the left plunger travels considerably more in both directions. Far enough to have bent the battery case during aggressive driving.
Now I suspect that this is a sign of excessive band wear but I just don't know... The transmission still works.
Ideas????
