  • Clutch sounds different

Hey guys, my clutch has developed a growel/vibration over the winter. The more i rev it the worst it gets. The machine still performs the same,I think. If it is a gradual thing, i haven't noticed any change. The machine is 1990 argo magnum 8x8, The clutch has a black spring on it. Any info. would help.Would like to catch this now, if there is something wrong. Mike

Since you can see the spring I'll assume that you think it the secondary. In that case I would inspect the 3 plastics sliders and the belt. When I took My secondary off I replaced the bronze bushing and installed a new spring and the 3 plastic slider. It worked much better. Also look for wear marks in the shive. If there are big grooves it will need to be replaced.

Everything appears ok on the outside. What is the difference in the spring colours? My machine seems boggy in high range when i go to make sharp turns. As far as the driver clutch it has approx. 70 hrs on it, actually when looking at receipts, they were both replaced at the same time.If i changed the spring colour would it make a diff. in power?
