  • Adjusting my t-20

I just got my t-20 transmission put back together and no longer leaks and everything functions properly. I put my machine up on milk crates today and started it up to work the transmission and make sure it was working properly and everything is. My problem and question is that since the rebuild one stick goes farther than the other and one side moves slower than the other in forward with both sticks disengaging the bands. I think it is only an adjustment and think it is in the bottom plungers. Does this sound right? i believe it's in the bottom plungers because these were the only ones where the eyelet could have been changed. top bands are in same spot as before bottom bands may not be since I had a machine shop create a groove for a second o-ring. What are your guys thoughts and where do I even start re-adjusting so I don't end up tearing my new o-rings on my bottom plungers?

The tranny is out of a 1973 attex chief and does not have the u-channel running the plungers but has the old flat bar style instead.

This is a weblink off of the Route6x6 page on how to adjust your T-20. I bought two plunger adjusting tools from Richard Clark to adjust the plungers equally to each other on my T-20. This takes the guess work out of trying to adjust your plungers. These tools also make it very easy to get the plungers on both ends equal in the plunger bore to each other.

Adjust the T20 according to this post: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/trans....html#post2322 or the T20 rebuild article.
