• 93 argo vangard 2 tranny???what is it...

what is the stock tranny called...?

at idle... warmed up... the belt turns over slowly.....
should the belt be stationary at idle...??
and the machine grinds into..... low or reverse......

how do i fix that ..other than turning the motor off /then shifting...

how do i slack or tighten belt.
...if needed...

is there shifter lever linkage adjustments...it feels very sloppy..

i havent pulled things apart yet ,,thought i would ask first...

and it seems 80w-90 gear oil@ 1.1l is recommended....true?
should i use that nappa stuff..equ-torq additive??

my argo has the 20 hp honda installed.....!

also how can i beaf up the break system...heavy duty discs?/shoes...safer.. emerg second syst???parts sources for ideas...
m new and argo virgin,,,help....please...

i thought Vanguard 2's and Conquest's were not introduced untill '95? if you have a 20hp Kawasaki you must have an early 8x8 Conquest? or someone did a nice engine swap for you, most older machines did grind a bit during shift change but how bad is yours grinding? most shifter levers are a bit sloppy but your could be a bit worn from age and use, just use 80-90 no additives and if your brakes system is a bit loose you can simply buy new brake pads for it, its the best $30 you can spend on a used machine

oh wow!....well then if it is a '97 Vanguard 2 thats a 6x6 with hydraulic brake upgrade, and a 20 horse Kawi liquid pulling it id say you have a very nice machine!!! now there is always a choice it all depends on your fab skills, but for just remove/replace you are stuck with genuine Argo pads/discs pads are around $30 and each disc is around $90 and you will be turning like a new machine!just be carefull removing the secondary clutch to replace left side disc!
