T20 band adjustment tool

Can someone tell me how to make the band adjustment spacer tool? If I can figure out the thickness I can do the rest. Is it 5/16" ?

The band adjusting tool that I bought from Recreatives is just wide enough to fit between one of the ' U ' channels on the later model T-20 transmission. If I remember correctly, it is about 4-- 5/16 thick
