Can anyone tell me how to remove the inside disks on a BH 6000?

You have to take it to a machine shop and have the little sleeves that are on the shaft, which butt up against the sun gear, removed. They are pressed on there. Once they're pressed off they will then remove the entire inner disc and bearing assembly.

If you dont have a press and are carefull you can pound the shaft through the rotors too. But that is risky messing up the shaft. I did it a couple times that way with a block of wood and never ruined anything. I really need to get a shop press.

OK, i got the transmission apart. apparently the shaft was spinning inside the bearing closest to the clutch (for about 30 years!) and creatd a .041 groove between the two snap rings that hold the bearing. does anyone know if and how this can be repaired?

Absolutely. The shaft can be welded up and turned back down to dimension by any reputable machinist. Or even a hack with a metal lathe.

Not an uncommon repair. Shouldn't even cost that much....
