  • any body want to play, belts & clutches for dumbies???

well lets start with,i have read that the bigfoot belt should be around 1/8 above the driven clutch hub when shut down.

    is this correct?
mine is about 1/8 under the pully,is it worn out?
it is 10 years old (i am planning on changing it) but does that little bit of wear have a affect on performance?

when it comes to pulleys (sheaves) i was reading about how you should scotch pad them every now and then to remove the polish surface (friction surface), when i looked at my engine clutch i noticed that the polished (used) portion of the clutch surface is only 1/3 of the diameter (the innermost 1/3)

    is this normal?

I would say YES, it's worn out.
Yes that much wear will affect performance.
And as for the "wear" on the Primary Clutch faces, thats not unusual, most driving and higher loads are done at slower speeds.
