  • best clutch material and brake cleaner for scrambler

Well my scrambler was working perfect-I bought the last 2 of my at101 tires so now with 6 new tires I decide to spray the chains with some mr wrench clear chain lube.Well thanks to my decision some of the lube got on by transmission disks clutch material and brake pads. There goes my steering! So I used one can of gunk brake cleaner and one can of starting fluid-to clean the trans disks this was all I had-It steered ok but the disk and material is still slimey and the steering still is not working .I can touch the disk with my finger and still get oil on me.What is the best degreaser to use?Brake cleaner-electrical cleaner-carb cleaner?Best brand?-

Something as simple as dish detergent (Joy, Dawn, whatever) should be sufficient as a degreaser.

I've found that Purple Power cleaner degreaser works REALLY well and eats away grease that's been on there for years. I use it whenever I'm prepping a frame or anything that might have had grease on it, for paint. You can pick up a 40 oz spray bottle at Autozone for about $3.

The best degreaser I have ever seen is called B-52. I works so good I don't usually have to let it sit to get the grease off, just spray on and wash off clean. If you're not careful with it, you may end up taking off paint. I always use it for cleaning up stuff to paint... It's a little more expensive, ($5.50 for a 32 oz bottle) but I havn't seen anything cheaper that works better.

B52 is made by Hollander Corp., here is a link to it on their website: B52 "BROWN BOMBER" Degreaser

I get mine from my local Bumper to Bumper/Hardware store...
