I just took 3 days replacing the clutch material on my scrambler I also added material.I believe I am going to need to add clutch material to the other side also.I have problems steering to the right ever since I put 6 new at101 tires on.Left steered great after adding all new clutch material and extra material to the middle of the clutch.I do believe the lh disc gets hotter now and slips due to the new tires.I do have a good baker hill 6000 and I did see a scrambler on the gallery with this trans.Seems that I could skip the jackshaft. My early attex was a three chain model. What do the experts think?

Baker hill 6000 in a scrambler?

Well I do know that the Baker Hill was a good transmission. My Baker Hill 6000 in my first racer held up very well to a high 40HP range, mildly built up Cuyuna 440 in my first Attex racer. I also can tell you that there was a nice looking Scrambler in Vermont that was for sale a few years back and the owner did the same thing, swapping the original Scrambler drive system out for a Baker Hill 6000. It's very possible if you have some fabrication skills, motivation, and some imagination. I'd go for it."Looks like you have a problem with your 4 wheeler........you're missin' two wheels there"

The baker hill would work fine but you will have to change the rear and middle axle sprockets to come up with the correct ratio.
The scrambler trans is sensitive to allot of changes and will heat up if even if the clutch springs are too tight ( they warp the disc like a bowl) Too little spring and they slip. Too much clutch surface area and the friction is actually less (spring pressure over a larger area PSI). Condition of the discs. Thickness of discs (if they have been machined before they deform like a bowl with spring pressure) I have one original 12hp Scrambler that runs very well and a racer that also works. The next Scrambler project i have will have an argo trans in it. I do also have a t-20 in one also.Acta non verba

I new jersey big foot would have all the info I need.I have watched your videos and checked out your builds.I will continue adjusting the spring pressure.Everything worked fine with 2 new tires in the middle and 4 old balloons on my trip up north but once I sprayed the chains I ruined everything.I am going to replace the clutch material on the lh side and clean up the disc. The discs are not warped but eventually I think I can get it dialed in or go to plan B.I think you are the only guy in the world with an absolute knowledge of everything scrambler related and I for one would have been lost.Stay tuned in the near future their might be some sprocket tooth questions from me.

Thank you thank you scrambler masters!-Your advice fixed my problem.Once it was explained to me by jersey bigfoot how the clutch disk moves on the main shaft I removed the disk and put a couple squirts of oil on the shaft. The rh disk now moves very easily in and out and the steering is perfect!!!I also removed all roll pins and installed hitch pins so I can have the transmission apart in minutes instead of hours.Once again Thanks for the wisdom!New tires-heavy flat twin briggs 16hp engine -excellent turning with the steering wheel left or right equals happiness!!!--
