  • MaxII T20 clutch movement question

How much movement should the clutch on the t20 side have? I can move it about 1/8" the same movement like the way you would check a wheel bering on a trailer
    Thanks

Are you referring to in and out movement of the clutch on the shaft? 1/8" isn't that bad. The next time you change your fluid, check to see if the ATF has a shinier quality than you'd suspect. Sometimes, you can spin the dog-ear off of one of the thrust washers and it will spin on the center plate, which adds to end play. I think some overly-worn fiber washers (if your transmission has them; some did not...) can contribute to end play as well....

Again, you can live with 1/8", but keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get worse in fast order. A spun thrust washer will eat into a center plate fast; they're much harder than the plate material.

No, I mean moving it up and down, so if I pull on it from the top toward the t20 case it would be at a slight angle

That's not good. Fragged input bearing or the center hole in the center plate is egged put. I would tear it down and see what's going on ASAP

Yeah, what Race says.... that's bad news. More parts can get damaged quickly if you have this much play in the shaft....

Let us know what you find out....

Ok took it all apart and the input shaft is shot. And also looks like I need to replace the drum that runs in the bushing #162-903 on output side Both bands toward the outside look ok but the two toward the middle drums have ware spots.
                Which is reverse?
