T20 problem

I recently purchased a 79 model max 2 and it goes forward when both sticks are pushed it will turn when i pull the left stick back but if i pull the right stick it brakes the whole machine, and does the same in reverse any all help is much app i am new to these machines but am decent with a wrench

Try the adjustment proceedure first, but if that doesn't work.......time for a rebuild.

Sounds like one band isnt releasing. check if the hairpin clips are in across the adjustment bolts. If a lower one is missing,the plunger may be stuck and keeping the band from releasing. MAX II will have to remove the battery to get to the adjustments. good luck.

From what I understand the left and right sides operate completely separate? What would be the cause of the problem in forward even I pull the right handle/brake and it brakes the left side also?
