  • Clutch/Belt Pitch

I am in the process of planning a re-power for my cat-a-gator with a new vanguard 23hp engine. It looks like the available clutches are for a 1 7/16 wide belt and from belts I have seen are 22 degree pitch. Would like to know if this is the common pitch used with most of these AATV's or does it vary? I need to measure my secondary clutch to see what it is. Thanks.

    hi
the cvt system is exactly that .
The primary and secondary clutches funtion together to gain the correct gear ratio for the appropiate hp and rpm spec
The cvt belt will match the cvt clutches and the lenght will be determined by the centre to centre distance when installed
The angle of the belt will match the clutch brand and model
Some belts will run either 2 degree shallower or deeper ""v"" than actual measurement on clutches
EG The gates listing for a 700 series clutches is a 26 degrree belt
