  • T-20 Thrust washers and bands

I do have a question my THRUST washers were on the oppisite side of the three gears (refering to the how to section) Is this wrong ? Do I need to change it to like the picture (how to section) when I re-assemble the tranny ? Should I plan on re-building these bands or give them a good cleaning ?

The oldest t-20's did not have any fiber washers, newer transmissions have one on each side of the planetary gear(s).
It is real tough to tell on your bands from pictures. What do they measure? It seems to be a common opinion NOT to reuse the bands if they measure less than 0.100".
Look at the eyelets on each end of your bands. Are both ends TIG welded, or just one end (older bands)? New bands are TIG welded on both ends. If you plan to reline the ones you have, I would make sure you have both ends TIG ed.
